This is a question Money-saving tips

I'm broke, you're broke, we're all broke. Even the smug guy on the balcony with the croissant hasn't got two AmEx gold cards to rub together these days. Tell everybody your schemes to save cash.

Referral bollocks
I did some referral sites a few years back in passing where you signed up to a site, choose a gift and earn the required credits to get the gift by either a) completing and signing upto a few legit partners (ie bingo sites) and performing the requested tasks (spend a tenner to get 3 credits etc) or b) to give your designated link to others and they sign up and do at least one offer (giving you one credit for each one). I left it in my siggy for b3ta among other places and I was a bit of a prat nagging people to sign up a bit, but out of it I got an Xbox360 Arcade, a Wii and a DSi for next to fuck all effort, just answering the occasional PM about it.

A few months back I rechecked the site and saw I only needed 6 more for a 3DS, so I completed two offers (both cost me a tenner each) and finally got it confirmed this morning that I have enough for the 3DS, will post a pic once I got it. Offers done cost me approx £22 (one offer gave me a credit for spending 1 euro), time taken was a good few months, but it works :D

Great idea
Can you get cash as an alternative to the gifts?

Xpango do let you work out alternate rewards
You may be able to actually; check the www.exceem.co.uk forums out, some guys on there have done custom offers with them.

Isn't this essentially pyramid selling by another name, though?

Yup, that's why I called it referral bollocks
But I have got goodies out of it, just for testing a few sites out (Lovefilm, Blockbuster Online, DoND Bingo etc) and it's saved me alot. Got the 3DS for literally £20ish (come to think of it I won £22 when I tested that too, so it cost me fuck all lol).

With the site I done there's 2 sides to it, either refer which is basically a pyramid scheme to get credits or just test out the 3rd party sites instead, either or is applicable.

It's hard to fault it
it does seem to be free stuff for whoever has the patience / energy / neck to do it.

But . . . but . . . I dunno. Something not right about it. The whole thing went beserk a couple of years ago, people were spamming the living daylights out of everyone else, trying to get them to sign up to things so they could get their free goodies.

Good luck with it.

^^this is the biggest gripe with it
When I started doing it I was nagging every cunt imaginable but after a while I decided to leave it running and occasionally complete something on there every other month just to keep it ticking over. If you try rushing through the lot you will just spaz out; I had to have alot of patience with them.

I know it's not quite the same thing but
my in-laws tried to get us into this - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autosurf#12DailyPro, glad I dodged that bullet now.
Toptip - ignore advice from your MiL but nod your head politely so it appears that you're listening & paying attention

Xpango
I got a DSI and a PSP from Xpango, it was a bit of a faff and had to chase for a few of the points to be added, but it worked.

My son has since knackered the DSI and my ex somehow managed to claim ownership of the PSP though...

Got the DSi, Xbox360 and hopefully this 3DS from them
Ended up selling them on after a while, paid for themselves :D
