this is a lame one
whilst i think of something major.

but.

i reeeeally want to go to the theatre and have one of the fancy boxes at the side. even if i manage to get the very best seats, with a better view, on the front row of the circle, i am still eaten up with bitter jealousy of the boxes.

Nah
Just make friends with the right people. A friend of mine when I used to sing in a London chamber choir worked in a fairly senior position at Buckingham Palace and got me tickets to the Royal Box for a Prom concert once. I'm sure that if it had been the theatre he would have been equally able to pull strings.

You don't want to, really
It's shit. The view is awful and you may feel special but you'll be dissatisfied with the experience.

Extras
Only if you don't pay for the extras. The midget sucking you off during the show makes it worthwhile.

I've done this...
...I felt just like Waldorf and Statler from The Muppets.

It's all to easy to end up heckling members of the cast and audience...

Do it!
I was the same. I really envied people in the posh boxes so I got my boyfriend seats in a box for a show we were seeing on his birthday.

We're both tall and chunky blokes so the extra space and legroom was fantastic. The price was exactly the same as seats in the circle.

Visibility was a bit rubbish though and there was the horrible feeling that everyone in the theatre was looking at us.

All of the above depends on the venue, of course. This was at the Buxton Opera House but I guess the Albert Hall would be completely different.

.
Its nice that that is what you want to do before you die. Because all you have to do is buy a ticket.

It was a veerryy long time ago
but British gas used to sponsor some thing where if you were under 23, you could get cheap tickets for posh things.

Me and GF at the time used to go to quite a lot of stuff, like opera, ballet and classical music concerts. Every now and then, if it was a quiet night, you'd get a box. Used to cost about £15, but things have probably changed - this was in about 1993.

I think it's a nice ambition - it's quite doable. It's the kind of thing you should put a tenner a week away for, and when you have the money, splurge it.
