The British Army made extensive use of them in the Burma campaign, to help maintain troops' morale.Their exploits were later dramatised in the 1970s series "It Ain't Half Hot, Mum," but animal welfare laws, and the advanced age of the original participants, meant the dolphins had to be replaced by human actors.
