Oh was that a nose?
Fully supportive of this sort of thing in either case

There doesn't have to be a reason, it's rather nice
and reminds me of my first joystick. I was a right demon with a joystick, then joypads usurped them as the main controller of choice and my skillz were lost forever :*(

I have a dream
whereby there's a huge computer game championship featuring modern games I've never seen or heard of (I pretty much gave up gaming in the 90s) and I walk in and the crowd stop and stare:
"What's that he's got in his hand?"
"It looks like a crappy early 90s joystick!"
and I calmly plug it in and manage to beat all the professionals as if I was a Kevin Costner character or something.
And then I get the girl. And then we... anyway, I'm boring everyone, you don't want to know the rest.

If I was some movie big shot I would buy up the rights to your dream

I could use these as the basis of an actual explory robot thing
give it 4 legs
and an umbilical connection to another module(s), and we could have centipede like explory things that can go anywhere
and when the weather gets bad they retract the upper limbs and rest on the lower 4 legs forming a secure* structure that can ride out the storm
*value of secure may vary
I'll suggest it to NASA!

It's always too late for clown shoes.
