# I don't do facebook
But if I did, this would be it.

# It allows me to stay in touch with people I genuinely care about, for free.
But the airing of dirty laundry appears to be a strange side effect of having more than 100 friends on Facebook.

Most of the people I know with numbers below that never feel the urge to moan about every inconsequential detail of their lives.

The weirdest bit is that they never actually say what's wrong until at least 12 other people have demanded to know what's happened. They'll just add bits like "I really don't want to go into it on here" until the begging reaches a level where they then tell you absolutely fucking everything.

# I did briefly try it
Then remembered why I had lost touch with so many people in the first place. But it was nice, for a short time at least, to know what people I hadn't seen or thought of in 20 years were having for breakfast.

EDIT: Bear in mind though I'm a strange one for communication. I have, but don't use, a mobile. My logic being: If I'm not at home, it is because I'm out. If I'm out, I'm DOING SOMETHING so don't have time to talk anyway. My mobile is for car breakdowns, calling taxis or emergencies.

# Oh...I thought their primary use was as an alarm clock...

# I use an alarm clock
for that. I know, I'm weird.

# funnily enough, I used to carry an alarm clock as I didn't have a watch, or a phone.
I'm a wild eccentric like that.

Then I got OMGOMGOMGPHONEOMGOMGPHONEOMGOMGPHONEGETAPHONE

I don't think life was improved by this.

# I just wear a watch
when awake, and use an alarm clock to wake up. Radical. During the day, I am at work, working. At going home time I look at my watch and go home. After that I am within 12 feet of my home telephone.
If I go out I'm not near a phone, but generally if I wanted to talk to the person calling me, they'd be with me.
There is nothing I hate more than talking in real life to a friend only to be interrupted by a beep and be told: "That was Doris! She is stuck at Milton Keynes station because of points failure! She was going to cook Toad in the Hole tonight, but is going to order pizza instead now".

Call me selfish. But I don't care.
