Our splinter
who art in timber
carpentry be thy name
Thy kingdom planed
and sanded and varnished
on the workmate as it is in the DIY book
Give us this 2 by 4
and forgive us our swearing
when we hit our thumb with a hammer
And lead us not in to flat pack
and deliver us from IKEA
Forever and ever
Amen

In the beginning The Tree created the bark and the wood. Now the wood was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of the level was hovering over the planks.
And The Tree said, “Let there be lightwood,” and there was lightwood. The Tree saw that the lightwood was good, and he separated the lightwood from the darkwood. God called the lightwood “pine,” and the darkwood he called “ebony.” And there was evening classes, and there was morning classes—the first day of carepentry.

no! Then people will have to hang a miniature staue of a guy around their neck rather than a torture device
actually, it kind of creeps me out when I drive to the less populated areas of Missouri, US, and see a large crucifix out in the middle of a farmfield
