i was gonna insert my oh so interesting fact about that film
but decided against it. in place of this fact I've decided to type in an explanation describing the absence of said fact.

still, grand pic!
will keep it short...
a group of clown fish is run by one female, the rest are males.
within the males, there is a lead male, he then has a vice captain and so on.
if or when the female dies, the lead male changes sex and becomes the new female of the group.
his vice captain gets promotion to lead male.
so...
in the film, when nemo's mum dies (it happens at the beginning so no spoiler alert needed)
nemo's dad should become his mum.
But I guess that would've made for a weird sort of kids film,
sort of a mix between the rocky horror show and finding nemo...

who says that the dad doesn't become the mum?
The clownfish doesn't develop massive boobs or wear red lipstick when its gender alters. It stays the same, just is larger in appearance and becomes more dominant - like the dad character in the film, becoming brave enough to search for its son ;)

that's a good point.
maybe nemo's dad's adventure isn't to find his son, but a spiritual adventure to find the new him, or her in this case. a coming to terms with new sexuality movie?
