[challenge entry] Did you know :
In the early years of colonialism in the Americas, starvation was quite common. Hungry colonists would put anything they could find in their cooking pots. Roots, grubs, mice, even dirty icky rats - this was considered a low point for anyone and by inference 'pie rat' came to be an insult for desperate people who'd do whatever it takes, even being naughty on the high seas.

To counter these naughtydoers, the Bavarian Illuminati was founded in 1676 (not 1776 as they want you to think) and their council of freethinkers, who prided themselves on being able to say no or yes as their consciences drove them, set up a warrior elite. These warriors became known as the Nein-Jas after the freethinking trait, which eventually became corrupted to Nin-Ja. These were set against the seafaring raiders in the Caribbean to protect commercial interests and thus 'Pie Rats vs. Nin-Jas' came to be.

(side note : although the exact etymology of 'versus' is unknown, it is believed the term was first used in 1970 by the card game Top Trumps to mean 'compared alongside each other by virtue of quantified statistics'.)
