But do you actually make ita compo entry when you post it? I've got no problem with taking inspiration from old compos, but why make them entries for comps that are over?

Sometimes,depends if I remember / can easerly find it in the drop-down menu.
It's not really a compo, more of a challange. If you think of it like that, then it doesn't matter when you enter.
