I don't think Beckham did a bad job of it, it's just that Barthez did a good one. the bald Frenchie bastard

Me and Phil keep on talking about hiring a camper van to follow the tour through the mountains. We never get off our fat arses and organise it, though

sorry, but his penalty was crap, when taking penalties you don't try and outwit the keeper, you just aim for a corner and Beckham's penalty was approximately 1/5-1/4 goal widths away from any corner. And it wasn't high and it wasn't low, it was at savable height.

is a given goal though is it?
fact is his miss wasn't the turning point of the game. if france hadn't won the free kick england would've seen out injury time without conceding
edit: 2-0 would've made the win a little more secure, but we were holding them perfectly fine - they had minimal chances

but the goalie should have to make a fantastic, brilliant save for it not to be a goal. Barthez's save was ordinary. He dived the right way and easily got his hands to it.
Look at Zidane's penalty. Even if James had gone the right way, there would have been little cahnce of him getting it.

but the goal wasn't required.

the goal wasn't required, we could have won 1-0, but any team 2 goals down on 90 minutes will tend to give up a bit, even France. And any donkey strikers whose team are 2 goals up don't tend to track back and try to defend much.

would've obviously have been a better cushion for us but again i say we were well on our way until heskey gave away the free kick

Even though he clearly supports the Faroes.
