Lurked and lurked and lurkedwith it logged on where I used to work so I never had to remember the password, then I left the company and completely couldn't remember it when I tried to log in again.

Nope it couldn't.Rob knows it's mine, but as he rightly pointed out
a) What's the point apart from user id envy
and
b) Once you let one person do it, everybody will be trawling through the old and obviously unused low id's and going "Ooh, ooh, that's mine, honest, can I have it bacK?"
