# you need a bigger bucket
perhaps a photoskip

# hohoho
It's doubly annoying as this is posibly the only funny thing I've ever thought of, and it just looks crap due to tinyness.

# yes,
you should make bigger images ...

/ducks

sorry for being an idiot, but i don't know Photobucket

# grr.
the original image was absolutely bloody massive, photobucket just decided to shrink it for unexplained reasons. I reckon it's some guy at the other end just messing with my head.

# it's because it's a bmp

TJ: can anyone tell me how to get my windows XP to show file extensions in folders? it's driving me insane trying to distinguish between gif and jpg versions of pictures
(, Wed 13 Apr 2005, 21:46, archived)
# Tools > Folder Options > View
then scroll down and deselect "hide extensions of known file types"

# Your comrpession is bad
So it cuts them in half in size. Though how on *earth* you managed to make that 250kb is beyond me. Try and keep images below 100k, this isn't an art expo!

# BMP's actually do compression?

# That's a bmp?
FAQ man.

# what?
I can't see anything in the FAQ about bmps. Sorry. I'm fairly new and crap.

# well...
in general gif is a good format for "cartoons" - or at least images with lots of big surfaces of the same colour or animations, and jpg is good for photos.

BMP is just crap because the file-size is enormous - you could have made that image over there about 3 Kb as a JPG, and probably about 20 if you made it 4 times as wide/heigh.

The FAQ does still say something about large file-sizes, right?

# does the programme
offer an image resize option? then you could adjust the width etc of the image as you like...

linking to the thumbnail instead of the pic?
edit: or BMP..etc yeah!

# Actually, he is.
If you remove 'th_' from the links you get (slightly) bigger images. Doesn't cahnge the fact that the main issiue is that he's using bitmaps instead of some compressed format.

# Can anyone
actually read the speech bubble okay? because, if not, it says " Tomkins, great news!, the WTC has agreed to sponsor our latest RAF advertising campaign!" or words to that effect.

# i gave up trying to read it
but i'm sure it says something funny or sick
(, Wed 13 Apr 2005, 21:50, archived)
# wahey!
I've made it slightly more legible, although it's still bmp.
