Well, you know what they say:

"When the ostrich is away, its main food sources, such as seed, plant matter and locusts, will play."

# Dear Giant Squid,
I am writing to say how much I enjoyed your picture. It brought back a flood of beautiful memories of the great man himself, I think about him now and shed a tiny tear but I know that he is up in heaven with Bod and Santa smiling down on us all. I like to think that Fred and I had a lot in common; I wear glasses (so did Fred) and I'm good at setting fire to things (so was Fred), although I know nothing about steeples and steam engines I feel that Fred and I could have quite easily been mistaken as brothers maybe even twins. Thanks for the memories.

Warm regards,

# Dear Duke of Prunes
I would like to take this opportunity, in the light of your mentioning similarities between yourself and the late Mr. Dibnah, to show you this photograph of myself (right) that appeared on the BBC website this summer. I feel that I should be awarded some sort of prize for unintentional Dibnah impersonation, or at least for the public humiliation I have endured.
Yours,
(, Thu 1 Dec 2005, 20:11, archived)
# Dear Useful Idiot,
THank you for your response. I have looked at your photograph and I think that you all look like members of Time Team especially the man on the left of the picture. Please don't show that photograph to me again as I am allergic to Time Team.

Kind regards,

# Dear Duke of Prunes
In accordance with you wishes, I shall consign that particular photograph some desolate, godforsaken part of cyberspace, as I have longed to do for many months now. However, I am duty-bound to inform you that the shady character on the left is in fact my boyfriend, who is not (to my knowledge) a member of Time Team. I will question him about this the next time the opportunity arises, as he has been acting somewhat suspiciously of late, attempting to violate me with trowels and suchlike. It may also interest you to know the chap in the centre is our very own Devil Duck, whom we seem not to be able to get rid of. He has been following us for some time now, and it is beginning to concern me.

Yours,

# oh I do
hope that you will be at the Grappenhall steam fair this summer ( as sadly Fred will not be able to make it this time around )
