Giffage
What is the best package for making smirksome
Gif efforts?
I already have Photoshop CS 8.0 and Macromedia
Studio 8.
I am quite feeble with these so far.
What would the masses recommend?

HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE THAT?
did you not turn up to the exam?
I say that because if you got b/c at everything else, you must be quite literate.

I'd recommend FAQ 1.0
been released for ages now, but still a very useful aid,
and can help get the exact effect you want,
I think there's a link on the page somewhere here
which will take you to the download site.
Failing that, CS has imageready built in, bit techy at first (i still struggle)
so maybe search for GIMP (yes, an actual program name) which is free and
ok from reports i've heard

I hope GIMP will
get some usability engineers on board on day.

garrr
There is nothing wrong with gimps layout.
Yes its not the same as photoshops, but to be fair photoshop isnt the easyest to use
At least with gimp you can assign short cuts to any of the menu items, allowing you to access filters quickly

I'd never suggest the Gimp
/disgruntled.
edit: although it is a bit tight to be disgruntled with something that is free.

I've never got on with it either.
The whole lots-of-apparently-unconnected-windows thing confuses the fuck out of me.
I've already got lots of palettes! Why would I want to see whatever's running behind GIMP as well?

I was initially curious about it
but having seen many confused comments about it on here I've never bothered to try.

Paint.net is coming along nicely
although I haven't found any masks yet and if it can't do them it's not going to be very useful to me.

I'll take a look at it.
I feel the same about masks though. I use them in practically everything I make.

either of those will do, seems silly to look at anything else after you've spent all that money
but it's the funny part of the process you need to worry about.

Remember- animations under 250kb if you'd be so kind.
I think the FAQ still links to Lemony's Optimisation tutorial.

Photoshop CS has ImageReady built in.
It's not the easiest app to use at first, but it's ok for most simple animations and it interfaces well with PS.

People usually don't get naughty-stepped for not posting an image (not once, anyway)
They usually get naughty-stepped for being cunts.

for those that aren't already hooked on Photoshop.

Edit. You have the best already in flash and imagereagy but if you google for 'gif animation' you might be able to fill your boots on some free stuff. The Gimp is fine for most things but some people don't like the interface.
Hello new person.
Generally on this board you are expected to post an image with your new message threads.
As you are new no-one will care what it is you post, as long as you made it yourself. We are generally fairly internet savvy and have seen most of the stuff floating around the internet (indeed, we made a lot of it).
