Aha
I'm always up for requests.
I'm trying to go in order, but I might just say 'fuck it'.

better to go in order
some characters undergo heavy development through the books

with the first couple of books it doesn't really matter
but the newer ones should be read in order, at least those concerning the same cast of characters, like the watch
and they are in order, yes

*claps*
So far my favourite one would be Night Watch or The Truth.
In fact, the Truth is my favourite so far.

i've read them all, by dint of the missus owning them, and not having anything of my own to read at the time
they're fairly accesible and entertaining

I think so.
Certainly Pratchett's one of the few authors to make me laugh out loud whilst reading. Those books and Spike's books about when he was in the war.

oh christ
they're the funniest books I've ever read, but also quite tragic when he starts to lose it a bit

I just want to direct the next big budget drama they do for discworld- or do the casting so I can get Mark Heap as Rincewind.

Oh it's all good, I think.
I'll always remember one thing he said.

Science of Discworld?
I'm not sure
Boo's told me about it but I haven't read it myself yet. It could be that one, we certainly own it.

Ah yes.
Sadly one of his weaker books, but had some good stuffs in it.

Am I the only person who thinks Terry Pratchett is a shit-awful author who isn't actually funny?
I should mention that I read more than a couple of his books before reaching this conclusion.

I'd guess you'd be in the minority when it comes to people who have read the books.
Most people who I know that have love him, but it's all subjective, innit?
Who do you like then? Don't say Tom Clancy.

At the moment I'm re-reading fight club because the only other books in my house that aren't in boxes are all in made-up languages.

Sure.
Just don't get too good at it or it'll put some of the real boys off.

I met him once and he was very nice in a big-hatted nice sort of way
but I've never read any of his books

I would have thought so.
Many people consider much of my reading material quite highbrow and inaccessible yet even I love to have a spot of escapism with Pratchett now and again. It allows for you to be a schoolboy again without any of the embarrassment.
Some people think Stephen King is a literary genius. I happen to think he's a one trick pony who has no idea how to end a story. Personal tastes may vary.

Stephen King likes stories ending with explosions or big fires.

i agree on the stephen king bit.
i liked the kubrick version of the shining infinitly better than the stephen king version, and if the movie is better than the book it means something right?

Have you read The Green Mile or The Shawshank Redemption?
Apart from these two, I'd agree. Total shite.
