not quite what the challenge asked for, but that never seems to stop other people

Haha, two attempts at the word "separate" and they're both wrong :P
edit: you changed one of them. Still wrong though :D

There are quite a few words I can never spell correctly
I blame my schooling and the first attempts at the phonics bollocks that they are now bringing in. For example they taught us to spell necessary "ness-ca-seree"

I learnt how to spell by reading books.
Other methods are full of fail.

hey when I was a nipper in the early 70's they came out with some bollocks called ita
which was basically just spelling words exactly as they sounded ( similar to phonetics ) I could already read and write before I went to primary school and I had to learn that shite all over. Then they dropped it again without a word. Bollocks. I still find myself writing 'ov' for 'of' at times.

Is that really what phonics is?
I was basically taught what sound letters and combinations of letters make. That way you could have a guess at a word you'd never seen before.

Oh come on Toasty.
I've been suggesting this for about two years and you are the only other person I have ever seen mention it. I'd love it top happen because the challenge is killing /board these days.
