# Let's try this again...
(Sorry- had to redo this due to its size.)

Ever wanted to know what it's like to be an engineer? Take a look.

I may do more of these- this place is a cross between 'Dilbert' and 'Office Space', so it's fertile ground...

# Interesting.

# Still playing with the concept.
I have AutoCAD and access to a hell of a lot of drawings, so I have a fair bit of source material...

I kinda like the idea of a kind of image-laden blog.

Thoughts?

# I think its rather ace how you have done it
Being an engineer doesn't sound that fun though :O

# It has its moments...
I need to think about this for a bit.

Actually, there are some really interesting parts of this job- I just need to figure out how best to present them.

# All I have is the shitty software the uni dishes out free
Solidworks...designed for, and by, idiots

# a reasonable idea.
but perhaps not on here, i'm not much good with lots of words, i leave that to /talk:)

absolutely no offence intended.

# None taken.
That's why I put all the words in something to be clicked.

My strength tends to be the written word- although the CAD drawings are the stuff I work with every day, and I can produce them more easily than I can produce a hand sketch. So I thought to combine them...

Still debating pursuing this further.

# this makes me consider
is an engineering degree the right thing for me to do for the next 3 years?...

nice drawings tho, imaginitive use for CAD

# come to aberdeen
and we can be b3ngineers together

or something

# engineers = physicists who can't do maths
/not at all got a physics degree blog
(, Wed 26 Sep 2007, 21:10, archived)
# heh
I spent 2 years studying physics-frankly the maths was the only bit i COULD do
(, Wed 26 Sep 2007, 21:12, archived)
# I wouldn't disagree with this.
There are some of us who are far better at making things than analyzing equations. I usually figure that's what we have math majors for, and computer science majors to make it easy for a machine to do it for me.

(This view will not make you popular with engineering professors.)

# math? majors?
What is this new language?
(, Wed 26 Sep 2007, 21:29, archived)
# Hey!
i resent that!
maths is the bit i can do!
maths degree seemed so boring...

# As an architectural technologist, I for one welcome the use of CAD on here :)

# yay for engineering micro-fiche posts
microfiche?
