# great thanks! went back today for a check up and they said everything looks 100%
i'm so glad I don't have to wear glasses anymore! \o/

# you are supermanlazereyes?
curious... how much that cost ya? (if it was what i said it was, if you don't mind me asking /doesnt need glasses blog)
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 19:04, archived)
# shitloads
cost me 3k. It was touch and go whether I could get it done or not, as apparently my corneas are extremely thin. I had one surgeon turn me down at first as he wasn't happy to operate. Luckily someone came along who had lower standards pffft.

# yeaouchies
i like the advert "from £150 per eye" you're the second person i've spoken to regarding this and that price!
blimey!

# I looked into those mega cheap claims.
Basically they are a farse. The only time you can get surgery for that low cost (per eye) is if your prescription is so small that you practically don't need glasses anyway.

# Out of interest
Why did you get it done? It seems like an awful lot of wonga for not wearing glasses.

/not judging, geniunely curious as a part-time glasses wearer

# Ultralase.
Not the cheapest place, but I know three people that had it done there and they said it was absolutely first class. They were not wrong - best customer service I have ever experienced.

I (used to) wear glasses all the time.. have done all my life. Then I moved on to contact lenses, but they dried out my eyes and were very uncomfortable after a few hours. 3k sounds like a lot, but i'm paying it off on interest free credit so it is manageable. It is probably one of the best things i've ever done.

Some people really don't mind wearing glasses....I always have hated them.

# Interesting
I suppose glasses are only fun if you don't have to wear them all the time.

Good for you, enjoy your new eyes.

# glasses are fun even if you DO have to wear them all the time...
/I even wear mine in my sleep so I can make my dreams clearer...
(, Thu 11 Oct 2007, 19:29, archived)
# I might still wear mine to enhance* my perceived intelligence

*give me some

# thank you
it sounds silly, but one of the things I hated the most about wearing glasses was the constant cleaning of them. It would really bother me if I got one tiny mark or smudge on them, so I would be forever taking them off to clean etc.
