don't get 'too' excited, it's not all that...
/so many 'aliens' references and direct comparisons it's quite off-putting

Don't get me wrong, it's enjoyable hokum
but (in my humble opinion only) not a great deal better than the first one, when comparing it with the original alien/predator films.
Mind you, I enjoyed AVP1 for what it was, I just felt that AVP2 has far too many similarities to Aliens for my liking, it didn't feel
like an original story was being told.

You'll enjoy it. I did.
Just don't expect a great return to form for the alien franchise on it :)

hmmm, well AVP2 has more 'gore'
but as said, it resembles 'aliens' too much to be anything other than a 'pastiche' to it,
lone tank rolling through town infested by aliens/armoured marine tank rolling through abandoned alien infested colony on LV426
taking off & nuking the site from orbit, yadda yadda yadda
not saying too much to give anything much away. it's enjoyable hokum :)
/Of course, it is superior to Alien: Resurrection, so that's one reason to go see it
