# *cheated*
I loved that book. Diana Wynn Jones rocked at teenage books when I was a teenager. Fire & Hemlock was my favourite.

I don't want to see this film in case it shits up the book for me.

# It might
It does not represent the book very closely, but is
good in it's own right if that's your kinda thing.

or is it manga?

That whole 'Belle and Sebastian' look...

# HMC is the only thing like that I have seen
I do recommend it

# cheated as well
it's not that it's obscure given that i read through pretty much all of dianna wynne jones when i was young (power of three was my favourite. though fire and hemlock still stands up well, not least because it's basically a re-imagining of two old scots fairy tales) but the image is pretty obtuse...

still, a very big woo for referencing dianna wynne jones :) also, buy her tough guide to fantasyland if it's still in print again, it's very good indeed.

# mr b3th is huge into folk music
and now I know the actual stories behind Thomas the Rhymer etc, Fire and Hemlock goes even deeper. And I live near Bristol, too.

Archer's Goon was ace too.

# They reissued loads of her books recently
like over the last four or five years. If I were you I'd buy the best of them -- they actually are worth reading as an adult, even if they don't take all that long...
