# I watched that a couple of months back. Beautifully animated as the french as always do
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:08, archived)
# yeah absolutely brilliant animation
have you also seen The Time Masters? another animated French film from around the same time (but not so trippy)
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:11, archived)
# No, never heard of it. I'll have to seek it out now, though.
My childhood favourites were all done by les francais...Mysterious Cities of Gold and ulysses 31, especially.

# Why not ?

Right, I'm off to watch that.

# i've never seen that
have you managed to catch The City of Lost Children?
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:12, archived)
# yes
I love that type of film, like MirrorMask, Delicatessen, Pan's Labyrinth, Paperhouse, Amelie, The Dust Factory etc.
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:19, archived)
# thank god, i've been convinced i'd imagined that film for years
as no-one else had ever seen it. i still need to see paper house and the dust factory, which would you recommend as my next purchase?
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:22, archived)
# hmmm
Paperhouse, sure it's 20 years old and has that 80s feel to it but it's good an there are a couple of scenes that will make you jump
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:26, archived)
# alrighty cool, is it that same sort of gothic weirdness of the others?
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:28, archived)
# it doesn't have gothic weirdness like the others
it's about reality affecting dreams and vice versa

the original book "Marianne Dreams" is better but the film is a very good adaption
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:32, archived)
# sounds interesting
bit like Science of Sleep?
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:33, archived)
# I haven't seen that, looks interesting
*adds it to the "must get one day" list*
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:35, archived)
# its really good, gale garcia bernal is very good in it
plus i just really like Michel Gondry's movies
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:39, archived)
# I remember seeing the still in production trailer for that, back when I was still into films and didn't find any entertainment a hollow escape from depressing reality.
It was terribly pretentious and awfully put together apparantly.
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:35, archived)
# nah it was just french
take from that what you will
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 1:42, archived)
# another brilliant film.
i keep hoping jeunet and caro will buy the rights to geek love - they'd do the best job of it (or jodorowsky, i guess). flicker (the book) is supposed to be in the works soon, but i can't recall who's involved. it's a great book.
(, Fri 30 May 2008, 5:58, archived)
# i love that film.
i linked it here a while back, it was surprising how many people didn't know it. it's a great film to recommend, almost everyone likes it immensely.
