# Extreme.
I'm smoking a clove joint. It's lovely. With my friend, Adam. He's not being so lovely.
EDIT: Also, we're listening to Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour. It's lovely.

# Clove though?
As in the kitchen accoutrement?
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 3:22, archived)
# That's right.
They're called kreteks. The cloves contain a natural anesthetic that sooth your throat. You make them with licorice rizla and they're just really aromatic. Anyway my mate was rolling me one and he crumbled some weed into it. Lovely.

# Congratulations.
You win the 'most typical student' award.

# No man, we're like, totally being ironic yeah? So it doesn't count.
We were actually joking about this earlier and, tragic as it is, it's actually pretty fun.
Edit: And to make things worse, we just got back from a lock-in.
Edit2: Also, before we went out, we were sitting on sofas, drinking coffee and discussing politics whilst listening to some bebop. Take that.
Edit3: Now we're going to a 24-hour breakfast place. Keep it real man, yeah.

Well I liked obscure band before they got big. They're too commercial now.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 3:47, archived)
# I, too, enjoy the music of obscure band.
Perhaps we should discuss their releases further. Whilst smoking clove perhaps. Seems like the most decent thing to do. Perhaps.

(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 3:51, archived)

(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 3:54, archived)
# Do tell.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 3:57, archived)
# Nothing to tell really...
As the fantastic Dr Mark Kermode said... the Coen bro's seem to do an awesomely epic film followed by a 'kick back and relax' film... Seems to consist of pretty intelligent people playing stupid ugly people + an obscure story line.

As a film of it's own accord it's nothing to sniff about, but I was expecting something a bit more from the Coen brothers, especially considering the cast.

But hey, everyone's allowed a mediocre film.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:03, archived)
# How very fair of you.
I'm gonna have to hunt out my VHS of the Big Lebowski now for my evenings entertainment.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:10, archived)
# I don't think I've ever actually seen a coen brothers film.
Other than a few sections of O Brother.

EDIT: Actually after looking through their filmography, I've seen Raising Arizona and about ten minutes of Fargo (which despite everyone saying is brilliant I could physically not even vaguely absorb).
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:16, archived)
# The
Big lebowski is worth seeing. Fecking awesome. And Fargo I thought was also pretty spangtastic. I look eagerly forward to the Coen brothers topping teh big lebowski though =)

On a seperate note, I generally attend any fancy dress party as the dude from the big lebowski, because comprising of pyjama shorts, a tshirt, dressing gown and shades, tis the most awesome and minimal effort costume going.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:26, archived)
# Ladykillers was mediocre
But I must admit i loved Burn After. It's not Lebowski, but since Lebowski is IN FACT the awesomest film of all time, what could ever match it?
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:20, archived)
# right, i wish people would stop judging burn after reading against their earlier work
it's a great movie! it's not laugh out loud funny, it's subversive funny, and, if you want to go there, it's classic Coens: a bunch of flawed people get into a clusterfuck.
(, Tue 28 Oct 2008, 4:29, archived)
# *drunken lazy rp tiem!
