does it cost?
there's a reason i never bothered joining the something awful forums
firstly, i feel like retaining what little shred of dignity is left to me
secondly, i didn't feel like giving lowtax a tenner. well, a fiver given the state of the dollar at the time.
i know, i'm a cheapskate.

It doesn't cost, but you have to put your credit card details etc. in the fields and post it in a thread.
It's hidden, and it automatically upgrades you.
Not many people know about it.

It's only $1.
You just post to /b/ as normal in a new thread, with your name and real email address, and your credit card number in the subject, and the expiry and security code details in the main message.
Instant GOLD status for you!

Protip:
I have no intention of giving my credit card details to anyone. Stupid I am, moronic I am not.

Same here about the SA forums
Except I was quite ambivalent about giving lowtax some of my hard earned pence. I don't think I would last a minute there either yet I've been reading there for a long long time now.
Bear in mind I've been getting the newsletters from here and reading /talk and /links for seven years yet only made a posting account a few months ago after discovering /board wasn't as volatile.

/talk aren't so bad once you realise that insults are the place's currency.
