First degree is if your skin goes red
Second degree is blisters etc, so this guy
third degree means you have burned off the layer of fat covering your muscles.
Fourth degree is how I like my steak cooked.
Pro tip : if you burn yourself put it under cold water for ten minutes (it has to be ten minutes or your autonomic system does not register it, keep it there even if you are bored), if it still hurts afterwards do it again. If you do it three times and it still hurts go to A&E because you need something more serious and the damage is not showing yet.
