This is a normal post I'll let you know
\o/
Edit: I suspect it's more to do with col a: Trump likes the proestors col b: some of them have dared to call for the return of the shah (which seems pretty dim to me considering he wasn't even in the top three choices for running the place when Kermit Roosevelt had his little coup.

This is a normal post
Civil servant: "The police have arrested some of the protesters and it seems to have quietened down"
Khomeini: "Praise Allah. Let's hope that's the end of it"
Civil servant: "urr...There is one more thing. The British opposition leader has returned from his holidays and issued a comment condemning our actions"
Khomeini: "This changes everything! Activate Escape Plan Argentina, we only have hours left"

This is a normal post Yes that’s exactly the important point
Rather than knowing who are possible future prime minister would be chumming up with.

This is a normal post ah, I've cottoned on to what you're babbling about
it's one of thöse right wing talking points, like when Obama "refused" to say the words "Radical Islam" meant he supported the orlando terrorists, you intepret Corbyn's not making a comment while on holiday in Mexico on a recent protest in Iran as equating to being friends with the Ayatolla

So draw whatever conclusions you like from that

This is a normal post He’s dead- why the fuck is that even relevant?
What a strange remark to make.

This is a normal post why the reluctance to talk about Pol Pot?
I think this indicates your approval for his murderous regime. You see how easy this game is?

This is a normal post No I don't see that at all.
I did roundly condemn Pol Pot. When he was alive and *had* a murderous regime. But if you've read the story you'll see that they are point blank refusing to *support* protestors for democracy. And it's probably because Corbyn took £20,000 from the frequently censured fakenes channel Press TV and because Iran funds Hezbollah and Hamas - both of which Jezza is fully behind.
Grow the fuck up, you moral equivalence child.

This is a normal post With a high degree of certainty
He’s a Hamas fan boy and he’s never going to say a word against the ghastly regime which funds it.

This is a normal post ACFC was last night forced into a condemnation of Pol Pot's Death State
However his belated statement has been widely criticised as "insincere" and "too little, too late"

This is a normal post Nope.
Democracy protestors are being gunned down on the street.
And because Jezza doesn't like their supporters, and does like the murderous regime, he won't back them.
This is going better than I ever could have expected. The stupicrats of b3ta have gone full retard.
So - Iran regime pro or anti?

This is a normal post this sort of reductive approach worked so well in Iraq didnt it?
Rather than just looking at this in terms of good and evil try and consider the complexities. Ask yourself what the realistic alternatives to this regime are. Are they better? How many people would need to die in order to change it? How long would it take? What resources would reconstruction require? What are the competing factions inside Iran and in the Iranian diaspora? What do they want? What are the wider effects of any action you may take - be it condemnatory statement, sanctions, regime change or something else...

This is a normal post That's a false dichotomy.
Just because you don't have a 100% perfect solution to a problem which addresses every conceivable aspect, does not prevent you from presenting valid criticism of the status quo.

Also, while I agree that on one level Jeremy is not compelled to make statements about this issue, he HAS made many statements about the area in the past so he has established his own precedent. To not make statements now is to be conspicuously silent on the issue.

This is a normal post Here's the wider geopolitical situation: Trump is gearing up for war
Given recent history, Corbyn's rise and the reasons behind it, do you think he will be on board with that? Or do you think he'll want to distance himself from it all right from the start?
