This is a normal post I'm more of a seventeenth century man myself.
It's a bit like the 18th century but crazier, and combines some very Modern characteristics (industrial development, mass wars, political revolutions) with some of the Renaissance flavour of the c15th and c14th. It's the century that's just about right.
