Job availability at BBC
Personally I think the BBC should just be 24 hours of one man in a concrete bunker reading news passed to him by a group of highly trained pigeons.

It is the most masochistic of organisations
I guess they have to be like that.
I'd have had him sacked for spending public money on programs like Mock The Week. Really, it should just be a very basic news channel.

That would require them to admit making mistakes.
Come on, Toast, you should know that will never happen.

you don't have to pay to fund the mail if you don't like it but uk residents are taxed to fund the bbc whether they like it or not.

Media creates child abuse hysteria.
Boss resigns because of mistakes made creating child abuse hysteria. What is wrong with the Uk?

For some vague reason. All this is getting slightly surreal

Can't say I'm that surprised
He must have spent the whole of the last two months regretting ever taking the job in the first place. He'd probably already made up his mind to jump at the first opportunity, and Newsnight gave it to him.

Man I am indifferent about
resigns from organisation I don't like for falsley accusing a man I am indifferent about from an organisation I don't like about something that I don't like that happened in and organisation I am indifferent about.
That sort of sums it up for me.

Eddie Mair's performance on Newsnight last night ...
... was one of the best things I've seen anyone achieve on TV for years. His obvious contempt for what had gone before was a sight to behold.
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01nwxt4/Newsnight_09_11_2012/ Skip to 8:50 ish for a good example
