Yeah. I suppose the first early uses of metal were exclusively for killing prey or enemies, neither of which he has any call for.
I don't really see where his smelting could have gone, given the quantity and quality he was able to make. It was an interesting dead end though.

Smelting may be fine for the lads and terribly clever, but stone was all my dad ever needed to feed a family of more fingers than i have.

What impresses me is that he's not a scarred bleeding mess from the mozzys...

I'm assuming that's why he had that fire going fairly quick in the hut.
