The Human Eye In Slow Motion
best bit at the end, never realised before how fragile and 'floppy' the iris is...

Good choice of music
I love Mat Jarvis' stuff.
Damn, high-speed cameras have opened up a whole new layer of wonder, and so much of it is so mesmerisingly disgusting :D

:D I remember someone (might have even been you!) posting a video of a Wheatley puppet on here.

Ahh :D
I'd love to have a portal gun... it doesn't have to be working, just a prop of sorts :)

That puppet was amazing tho,
the bugger even talked, and she did it all herself from scratch, unfuckingbelievable.
I think we all secretly want a portal gun...

Psh, I wish she lived around here, I'd ask for help in making this bloody Daft Punk helmet.
And I think I'd probably end up accidentally killing the world or something if I had a portal gun.

You're making a Daft Punk helmet!?
They are a bitch, half 'cos of the metal shininess, half 'cos of the electronics, totally beyond me so utter respect of you're even attempting it!

I don't think I'll bother with the electronics; if anything I'll stick one of those LED belt buckles in the front.
The chrome effect is something I've been worrying about. I was thinking of getting it vacuum formed if spray paint won't work.
And thanks :) I'll post results once it's done.

*hopes for the best*
I was planning on buying a bike helmet and building around that. I acquired a 'net' of Thomas' helmet which I can take pieces from and transfer them to linoleum or mat board :)

It's amazing, the number of links I see here and bookmark. If I remember correctly, that guy spent around the $8000 mark. The fact that he had bespoke PCBs made for the lighting should give a fair indication of how super serious he was about the whole project. Personally I prefer my models cheap and cheerful, not white and elephantine.

^This.
I don't plan to spend much at all with this project... even if I could I wouldn't. I mean, I calculate the whole thing would probably be around the £40-50 mark, depending on what helmet I get, what material, spray paint (saw a decent can for a fiver yesterday), etc.
