When it was actually informative rather than just "three blokes cocking about"™

Fifth Gear do all the talk about tyres and seatbelts and the like and it's terminally dull.
Give me three blokes hurling old cars into a quarry any day.

It was the dullest thing ever. They even made an article about a new 360 dull.
Top Gear however, is the only reason I buy a TV license.
Woo the Clarkson!

when they still did roadtests and comparisons, as well. They still kinda do them now, but it's getting more and more "look at the power from this really fast car", which is fine for a special episode or two per series, but not all of them.

Seeing Jezza razz one fast car around a track is much like seeing him driving the rest of them. They're all quite similar as far as I'm concerned.
Still love Top Gear though.

But the public gets what the public wants and they want 'POWERSLIDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Is steadly becoming more and more formulaic. It's appeals not so much to the car enthusiast anymore and more to the shallow minded simpleton. It has become "Brainiac with Cars".
Saying that, I still watch it when it's on the telly.

Oh christ yeah. It's fun every so often, but it's become this odd ceremonial thing that most 20 / 30 something men just blindly watch every week.
All the challenges and things are so rigged and repeatative...

This series has been a challenge every ep, they should do cool wall again etc

But lately its seems as though its the same episode over and over.
basically it goes like so: A challenge where they have to buy a cheap car of some sort.
Drive it to somewhere - hilarity ensues as the cars are on their last legs.
Then do a challenge with the car.
Then count up points....
Did I mention an embarrassing car wuold follow them around to pick up anyone broken down.
Seriously, im getting tired of it now, especially when those challenges are on every cocking hour on Dave then Dave JaVu.
AAAAANnnnnnd relax... :)

Its Last of the Summer Wine with cars. Just replace the bath tub / rowing boat / Nora Batty with a motorised form of transport and you have the same show.... (but I still like it).
