This is a normal post Well, its kind of undeniable that the Ukranians don't want to be annexed
And that the Russians are the ones pouring petrol on the fire repeatedly. But you're right this isn't exactly a balanced "article"

This is a normal post The trouble is, to really get behind the current coverage of everything out there,
I'd have to forget that Ukraine a few months ago had a legitimately elected govt with fairly wide popularity until the trouble started, and their new leaders are a rather right-wing bunch who took over by force in a coup (and we still don't know who organised/funded it, it was all very fast and "neat"). So I'm staying on the fence on this one...

Bollocks. The many Ukrainians of Russian ethnicity are well up for it, this idea that it's all external Russian influence stirring up strife is being massively exaggerated.

This is a normal post And the EU and America haven't poured any petrol onto the fire themselves?
The problem with that 'popular' revolution they had in Kiev is that it was basically ethnic, which given it violently overthrew an elected government meant it instantly alienated a huge chunk of the Ukrainian population, who are naturally going to seek protection from Russia. This is what can happen when you flirt with fascist thugs at the ballot box, and then in an armed uprising, like the Ukrainians did in a country so starkly divided on the grounds of ethnicity.

This is a normal post Not the best writen article but its been reported on other networks too.
Journalists have been kidnapped and beaten in Crimea so I would not be surprised if the same happens here.

Putins using propaganda big time to stir things up and create a cover for invasion. So journalists going round reporting off message are going to get squashed.

I managed to talk to the other day to my friends who live in Crimea. They were born from Russian families caught up in the boarder transfer between Russia and the Ukraine and they were telling me about the appalling treatment that Russian families got from the Ukrainians during this period and that the racial issues are still there today and how at the time they had their nationalities stripped and other ones forced upon them... It was a bit confusing to listen to as the line kept on being cut off, but its a different side to the story of whats going on. Hopefully I can speak to them again this week as they are trying to get to somewhere safer.

This is a normal post Boarder transfer? Like on the Hogwarts Express?
Also, you might want to read something a bit more neutral, such as this report from the UN; www.ohchr.org/Documents/Countries/UA/Ukraine_Report_15April2014.doc

Eg. "In eastern Ukraine, where a large ethnic Russian minority resides, the situation remains particularly tense with ethnic Russians fearing that the central Government does not represent their interests. Although there were some attacks against the ethnic Russian community, these were neither systematic nor widespread. There are also numerous allegations that some participants in the protests and in the clashes of the politically opposing groups, which have already taken at least four lives, are not from the region and that some have come from the Russian Federation."

Otherwise it all sounds like the Crimean version of UKIP (UK families forced to accept the laws of Brussels ...)

This is a normal post It's an issue that includes other format USSR countries too.
I lived in Estonia for a number of years and the attitude towards ethnic Russians there is discriminatory. It builds up tension and eventually kicks off.
