Er noDon't use the supermarket machines, they take anywhere from 7 to 12%.
If you go to the bank you bank with they can't really refuse and have to do it for free, although I imagine they would find it helpful if you bagged them up into bags of £1 worth, then they can just weigh them to confirm there is enough in there.
I took £30 in 1ps 2ps and others all bagged up properly and it took the cashier approximately 30 seconds to weight the bags to confirm and give me paper cash.
