This is a question Cars

"Here in my car", said 80s pop hero Gary Numan, "I feel safest of all". He obviously never shared the same stretch of road as me, then. Automotive tales of mirth and woe, please.

Do not ever turn off the front headlights to see how dark it is with them off.

You have headlights in other places?!!

Haha.
I've done this. It's horrible *click*

agreed
My old volvo used to like doing that of its own accord, especially on twisty turney, welsh back roads!

stealth
I've always referred to that as "going stealth." My old MG did that to me a while ago and everyone I passed felt that it was necessary to point it out to me that my lights were off.

Yes this is "stealth mode" for me and my friends, too.

It's quite nice when the ground is covered in snow and the moon is full.

I used to do this on the M11 in wee hours of the morning
It was nice and relaxing, and you did at least know nothing was coming the other way.

You'll probably rear-end someone doing the same thing though...

I've heard that
its even more effective if done on large motorcycles, whilst overtaking cars, and knocking on the drivers window. But I've never done it.
Honest

I used to see how far I could get
with my headlights off but it gets too scary and sometimes mine dont turn back on properly

I did this once
on the A66. I nearly ended up nose first in a ditch; strangely I've not been tempted to do it again.
