I did a similarchanging a metal light fitting at my sisters house, the light was turned off but the power was on which shouldnt have mattered. Unfortunately the spark who wired the place up put the switch on the common side which meant that although the light was off I was sticking a screwdriver into live wires. Somehow I managed to pass out and wake up without falling off the chair I was standing on.
