This is a question Bizarre habits

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "Until I pointed it out, my other half use to hang out the washing making sure that both pegs were the same colour. Now she goes out of her way to make sure they never match." Tell us about bizarre rituals, habits and OCD-like behaviour.

The A19 north of Thirsk
is pretty much a straight run. That is until you get to Teesside when it weaves about a bit in big sweeping curves. When driving along this stretch at speed (it doesn't work under 50mph), I cannot help but sing the music from classic 80s arcade game OutRun because it reminds me so much of the first level.

A lot like this, and that particular tune.

That sounds like a road I'd like
except 'Thirsk' sounds suspiciously Northern, so I'll give that a miss.

Shame, because there's a fabulous road
that runs south across the middle of the N. York Moors. Along High Street out of Castleton, and follow the road to the left as it turns south to Hutton-le-Hole 12 miles away. For four miles it climbs 600ft, then drops almost 1000ft over the last 8 miles. Not very steep, but in early evening there's practically no traffic and with the sun setting behind you, you can almost see the full length of the road, allowing you to utilise the full width of the road on bends catching the apex on either side of the road. A fantastic drive.

Edit: Be aware that there are usually sheep at large loitering by the side of the road

I like that it's near a place called Fryup

Aaah, so many memories...
I loved playing that on my Sega. The cars had shit road-holding abilities though. I remember thinking, if cars are this fucking difficult to drive there's no way I'll pass my test.

Ah, yes. That brings back memories
used to do a regular trip from Manchester to Middlesbrough to get a shag off my (now) wife, who was at uni there.

Used to blast along that particular stretch in an old Nissan Bluebird with some album blaring out. Lucky never to have been caught.

Not there,
but on the causeway out to the Isle of Portland, definitely. It even looks like OutRun on the satnav.
