I used to know someone whose daughter had a habit of eating woodlice. She called them chocolate bombs... I believe your description more.

have eaten them on survival training. Reverted to eating nettles and sorrel. Boiled.

Later, I caught two trout which, roasetd in foil, tasted so good I could have cried at my earlier humilations
