This is a question Moving home

"Moving house is one the more stressful moments in life," claims Social Hand Grenade. What horrible things have happened to you as you shift your black bin bag of undies from one hovel to the next?

McChinaman reminds me of the time I bought a cheap sofa, and a mate and I carried it through Dalston that summer's morning.
Tired, we put it down outside a shop, and I popped in to get us each a can of beer, and we sat, drank and smoked and watched the world go by - excellent.

Many moons ago one summer
When we were about 19 years old the council made a 5 a side pitch on what we referred to as the "back field" it was a just a large field behid our estate where people walked dogs etc. We used to play football there for years before the goals were installed and the grass was cut to resemble a 5 a side pitch.

This summer a stoner friend of mine had acquired some new furniture so we were supposed to dispose of his 3 old 3 seater sofa at the local tip, it made it as far as the back field. It was scorching hot weather, we left it at the side of the 5 a side pitch, went to the shop and purchased lots of those very large bottles of San Miguel.

We spent the next 3 or 4 hours either sitting on the sofa dirinking beer and smoking dope watching the world go by or playing knockout (badly). We went back the next day to do the same only to find some cunt had set fire to it.

Oh, wait, I get it now. An ex used to watch that bloody programme every week.
Still, it gave me another excuse to go to the pub on a Friday night.

Pub crawl with sofa
That reminds me of when me and a mate carried a sofa across Brighton, stopping at each pub en-route, drinking beer sitting on our sofa on the street. Especially comical at The Geese, Southover Street as it's a damn steep hill so you end up sitting at a silly angle. Have to be careful not to spill the beer
