Is it you?" That sorted it. Stories of people blissfully unaware of their bad smells, bad manners and foghorn voices.

NoncesMany people without children - and probably some with - will ignore a child absolutely out of fear that any interaction with them, even scooping down to retrieve a lost toy, will have them branded as a nonce.
On a plane, where any form of unrest is likely to be met with tasers, arrests and banning from flights, I expect that appearing to be a rude and inconsiderate prick is 100% preferable to the slightest hint of potential nonciness.
