it jsut seems to me you'd only give someone headphones if you were given them free as a promo of some sortfor signing up to a particular broadband or from a client who wants to keep your custom

nah, not with his jobbesides, the receipt was in the box.
he tried to give me an equivalent amount in cash which i returned, so he has spent it instead. it's v thoughtful.
