When I was a youngster,my mother dislocated my elbow trying to make me go to the doctor because she thought I'd swallowed a penny. I hadn't swallowed a penny, as was later proved, but I stopped complaining once my arm looked like it had been put on wrong. The doctor apparently called all his colleagues in to have a look as he relocated it.
It's never dislocated again, but it does hyperextend about 10 degrees now.
