I've just got up.
Probably have some breakfast then go to the park or something with the dogs.
We've got some of Ladypigs old uni friends coming over for lunch, and quite frankly I think they're nobs, so I've gotta play nice all afternoon
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 9:02, Reply)
Ladypig and I went to the same Uni
Knowing the demographic I can probably concur.

Ain't no nitty gritty in MY jam.
It does get hot though.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:49, Reply)
I'm going to have another coffee, a bacon and black sandwich then get on with my day.
So far on the agenda I have to tidy up a bit and cook lunch for the week.

I also should really tend to the garden, but my excuse for not doing that is that I've run out of petrol for my strimmer and don't have a car or a mate free that can give me a lift to the petrol station and I can't go down on foot for fear of looking like a fucking weirdo.

It's like being a kid in a sweetshop, surrounded by all this booze and not really able to drink any till later.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 11:27, Reply)
Running a pub sounds shit.
Especially if you haven't got a lackey to do all the actual running bollocks for you.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 11:36, Reply)
I wanted to get involved in it.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 11:41, Reply)
It's me, me, me with you all the day. Who cares about your families future when you can be earning minimum wage and being the coolest kid in the pub.
Cheerio secure employment on over 100k a year, I never liked you anyway.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 11:51, Reply)
You're only the coolest kid in the pub when you're giving away free booze or holding lock-ins.
If you try to actually earn a living the regulars think you're a bellend.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 11:53, Reply)
Try being a gp for ten years, it's depressing', if it goes tits up, I suppose I could always get back into it.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:14, Reply)
Do doctoring tickets run out?
You know, like hse, offshore, forklift etc.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:17, Reply)
I would need regular reevaluation, and have to pay an annual fee to stay a gp, think it worked out just south of two k a year.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:31, Reply)
Try working a pub that's tied to a brewery, has no prospects and earns peanuts. Decent holidays a thing of the past, working unsociable hours, and finding that your kid gets called a smelly tramp at school because you can't afford a decent uniform.
Oh sabbatical, why didn't I take you to find out that running a pub is shit and I can barely scrape through. Now I find that I'm having difficulty finding a practice to get back into and the bank are after my house. That's depressing.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:33, Reply)
It's not tied.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:38, Reply)
You've already stated on numerous occasions that it's fucking tied you retard.

(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:41, Reply)
He's had some solid advice in what it will be like from a few people,
And is going for it anyway. I can't imagine what is going to happen, but I would like to hope he is one of the lucky ones that enjoys and relishes the challenge and that his wife and kid are fine without him.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:39, Reply)
Nobs will be here in a bit,
We've got a cracking bottle of pauillac on the rack, and I don't want the nobs to have it, but I've also had too much to drink while cooking to drive up the wine shop. This is a tragedy.
(, Sun 17 Aug 2014, 12:36, Reply)
