When my youngest daughter was about 9, she told me her friend Ashley was coming round - I wondered who he was - she described his bike in detail and that I was to call her when he arrived.
He arrived, he was (and still is) of West Indian parentage. I was proud that she didn't think to describe him by his skin colour.
I did some things right
