Round 2 *ding ding*
Ok more pet peeves!

Being told I am "full of right wing bollocks" by people so blind sighted by "PCness" and "equal opportunities" because I fully believe that

* Murderers/rapists & paedophiles should get the death sentence
* Prisoners should not be entitled to human rights if innocent people in the third world don't get any
* Prisons should be be scary ass places and rehabilitation should be mainly under the guise of "do it again and we start chopping bits off"
* the money we save by killing off the murderers/rapists and paedophiles would be better spent on the education and health systems. Also don't tell me I am "wrong" because I think like this. They are my opinions if you want to have an adult discussion then fine, but the liberal fuckwits who call me a nazi will be getting a punch in the face. If they are lucky.

I also get annoyed when women insist they are "Chairwomen" or "Chair" it's chairman and in every report those people sent me I changed it back before I sent it out. The same applies for every other job where it says "job-man" and they try make it postwoman or milkwoman. Those words come up underlined in red for a reason so get over it. Also the really hardcore crowd who go for "huwomankind" and "womankind" referring to all of society as opposed to just the double X's. Get over it, you are not going to get equal treatment because you call yourselves that. If you are lucky you may get a punch in the face.

People who are too liberal and believe everyone deserves a fair deal regardless of how many people they have slaughtered is why the country is going down the shitter, and the other people who are too concerned with making up new words to try and assert equality are even worse.

In the same vein of pet peeves but was covered enough in the kids topic, is people who cave to society dictating that they need to get married and have kids even when they don't want to, or marry the first person that comes along and ultimately ends up divorcing. These are the people who moaned a lot before they were married on how "you" (general populace) have to get married and have kids before you are [insert age here] and how unfair it is that all their friends are married and knocked up. Then they get married and knocked up, become alcoholic muppets whose kids end up in and out of the prisons because to them it's like free food and board.

Oh and as a small afterthought, friends who don't give you support. These people are swiftly moved into the ex-friend pile. Seriously if I want to write a book then support me don't say it will never happen, even if the odds are tiny that it will ever get published, be a fucking friend and offer to proofread it. Oh and if you are then going to cry because the next time you say you are going to do something and I turn round and pick it to bits I reserve the right to punch you in the face.

ok I'm done now....

I disagree
but I don't think you're full of right-wing bollocks.

Have a clicky.
I agree with the prisons and crime stuff, and the friend support. The rest of it...hmmm, not thought about it much. But as you say, your opions.

*hard click*
I agree pretty much with most of it.

Our country is screwed. I'm outta here.

*cowers*
And agrees with you. I'm getting far more right wing as I get older.

On the chair"woman" thing, something that I find myself getting increasingly pissed off with is this. I work in a male dominated job. I am fine with this. I chose to do this. I do not need special treatment because I am female. I do not need special job opportunites, courses, workshops etc. And you want to bring more women into my field of work, fine. Why are you asking me about it? I chose to do this, remember, why don't you ask the women who didn't chose to do this job why they didn't.

Equality is important when it comes to fundamentals. Food, shelter, pay etc. But why oh why do we need a 50% split across all genders for jobs? It doesn't matter. It doesn't make sense.

*cries*

click!
I'd vote for you :-) There's more common sense there than most politicians' bullshit.

Some I agree with, some I don't
but I will defend your right to your own, freely formed opinion.

I got called a "fascist" when I replied to the beggar's request for "any spare change, love?" with a firm, "none whatsoever, get a job". I was accused of fascism for suggesting that he might like to try earning the money to replace his now-empty can of Special Brew. Huh?

I got called a tight bastard
by a Dundonian ned (chav for you lot down south) for refusing to give a couple quid to get some food...because I said to him "If you can afford hair gel you can afford some grub"

I have to agree
The world is a shitty place - no matter where in it you are - there is always someone who is working the system, sueing for things they don't deserve or demanding rights that they haven't earned (this one is aimed at criminals, you broke the law, you don't deserve your rights, they were forfeit when you decked the old lady with that sack of bricks then raped her corpse).

I'm all for freedom and rights for all, but you do have to earn these things, and prove that you can handle the responsibility that these virtues carry. Same with parenting, they should license parenthood so that you have to be able to prove that you can handle the responsibility of having children. What they do in foster care, but if you smart enough to figure out what goes where/dumb enough not to use contraception you can get away with bringing more people to the crowded rock in space.

Buggers the mind sometimes.

Crime stuff
I completely agree with all the crime stuff. AFAIC anyone who commits a crime loses any rights that they have and if someone breaks into my house to steal, Im bloody well going to defend it and I find it outrageous that they can then sue me for ABH etc. If they hadnt been breaking the law, they would have been safe and therefore its their own tough tit!

Down the shitter?
I can't be the only person here who quite likes Britain, can I? I don't really think it is going down the shitter...

And it's nice and sunny today. Woo!

I agree in less extreme ways, we need to counter the rights/responsibilities balance and it's tendency to be leaning to the left nowadays,,
if you are a good law abiding person you should definitely have more rights than some twat who has decided he will just do as he pleases and fuck you all, BUT because bad decisions, politics and mistakes do get in the way of 'justice' all the time, everyone does need a means to have their say, and possibly overturn such a decision, and you can't do that when you're dead, and it could be anyone of us, especially with terrorism involved, so I really do feel it should err on the side of protecting the public from a proven dangerous individual, not revenge for their (possible) deeds.

Also, how does state approved murder show folks that murder is wrong?

So basically I guess I agree with the concept of harsher deterrents and a loss of rights and privileges as someone demonstrates a repeated lack of respect for societies laws and others' liberties, but not the death sentence, that's just a step too far for me, a lifetime in prison for those few folks beyond redemption suits me just fine.

Oh, and our prisons are mainly full not of paedos rapists and murderers, but with petty criminals and drug users and such, so unless you're gonna kill all of them too, it's not gonna save that much money, really, is it.

And as for getting a punch in the face for being a liberal into equal rights, go on then, I'm fascinated to know how this will work online.

Oh, and PS, the friends thing is just a 2 way street, it's not about blind support in all things, you behave as you wish to receive and you have to make it clear to them what you think that should include, but that goes for your friends as much as you and you need to remember that. Friends do not demand, this isn't a job and you are not paying them for their time, friends ask and expect, and if they don't get, then they give less and less till the whole process of give and take breaks down and then they're no longer friends, and then you go look for another friend who gives you more of what you need.
That's how it's always gone for me, anyway.

couldn't agree more
because punishment is supposed to be a deterrent, not rehabilitation.

as far as I'm concerned, if someone murders someone, rapes someone or molests a child then the deterrent didn't work, they are beyond rehabilitation and they have given up all rights.

WiL..
I wouldn't punch you in the face as you have expressed your views in a way that adds to the discussion and indeed raises valuable points. The people who get punched are just those that tell you your opinions are wrong.

I am also aware that the death sentence is always going to be a "hot topic", but if someone killed someone I loved and I had concrete evidence I wouldn't hesitate in pulling the trigger as it were and I believe in it for that reason and all the other families who have had people taken away from them and the killer, in some cases, let out years later to continue their life.

And I agree that the prisons are full of petty thieves, burglars, hamburglers and the like, and as such just believe prisons should be a bit harsher so when they are thinking of breaking into peoples houses to steal a MP3 player and a couple hundred quid they stop and think "I quite like hot food and the ability to go outside when I want so I better actually go get a job instead". Walking past the job centre on my lunch breaks and hearing "I just got out of jail. Again" is getting quite annoying. Proving rehabilitation and the threat of prison isn't working.

I am also fully aware friendship is a two way street, and I have literally gone out of my way (by about 50 miles) to help friends which just annoys me more when certain people expect validation and encouragement from you for their ideas but refuse to give any back.

It feels really good to vent :)
