why blame the footballers?
most of them would happily play for £20 and a free meal. Beckham, rooney et al play for the love of the game, not the money, although that is a rather large bonus.

Instead, why not blame the fans who are willing to turn these ordinary bloke into role models by paying £50 a week to go and watch them.

I agree that nurses and teachers should be paid more, but I don't think footballers do anything wrong. it's the business around football that you have the problem with.
