This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

On my own doorstep - Cromer
'Jewel of the North Norfolk Coast' they'd have you believe, and yes, the beach can be nice. However, it really is a dark and dingy place in the town. Crime is rife, there's nothing there to appeal much to the locals, and the Chruch in the centre of town is a haven for kids drinking at night and other dodgy dealings. A really 'creepy' place.

Just 3 -4 miles down the road, Sheringham. Much brighter, nicer beach, better pubs, more shops/eateries and generally just more friendly. Lovely place, be a great place for a B3ta Bash at some point, especially in the summer.

I can vouch for that.
I much prefer Sheringham too! But North Walsham... sheesh. Words cannot express. And Felmingham. If ever there was a one horse town, that would be it. Banningham Arms is nice though.

..I concur, its a lovely place. Ideal area for a weeks worth of cycling.

Hoorahhh for Sheringham!
I love Norfolk. We used to go there when we were little, all the way till I was 16, and then we went back last year. Norfolk has teh win, even Cromer (though you are right, as an adult it is a fucking creepy place).

If there is a b3ta meet in Norfolk I'm totally going. And North Walsham even I love that too. We used to stay in Bacton, and then at Witton Bridge which is so small it only has about 5 houses and that's it.

Good God you stayed in Bacton?
Nice beach I guess, but not much else. Still, Overstrand is lovely. And if you know where to find it, the Banningham Arms is ace.
