This is a question Sexism

Freddie Woo tells us: Despite being a well rounded modern man I think women are best off getting married and having a few kids else they'll be absolutely miserable come middle age.

What views do you have that are probably sexist that you believe are true?

Speaking of sheds, Mrs SLVA just doesn't get it.
Our shed is an 8ft square concrete outbuilding, and was extremely cluttered, so we cleared it of all the crap. Because we were fitting a new kitchen, I converted the shed into a utility room. Tiled the walls and floor, put in some old kitchen units, plumbed in the washer, added power and a tumble dryer, and filled the rest of the space with tools and obscure fluids for cars.

She couldn't get her head around why I went in there and spent well over three hours being extremely OCD about putting stuff away to my system and then sorting out all the nuts, bolts, screw, washers and nails into those small drawers that you hang on the wall.

sounds like a blissful three hours!

Throw in a comfy chair, cable television and a half decent stereo and most men could live out their days happily in there.

Except it gets too fucking cold
but in summer I've opened a deck chair and sharpened chisels with an oil stone. Which is more satisfying than you'd think. Mrs SLVA came to look for me, thinking I'd cleared off out somewhere.

The next day, the did the same thing but did the lawnmower blade. You could've shaved with it when I'd finished.

u r slingblade!
(some people call it a slingblade. I call it a kaiser blade)

Oh I understand that
I could spend an equal amount of time doing much the same in my kitchen.

You need to get mains out there so you can have a heater for the winter and a beer fridge in the summer.

Oh, there is power
but if I wanted to get a beer cooler in there, the only way I could find room would be to get rid of the compund mitre saw.

No problem!
Just lose the tumble dryer; perhaps place clothes in the oven instead?

I hate
when wimmen cant get their head round why we like some things they dont, rather than accept that they dont understand they hassle the life out of us.....or me at least.

I hate you, you bastard.
Sounds like my dream of perfection. A couple of storage heaters'll soon sort the cold out. May I suggest a small `home brew' area to make it complete?

you sir
are a genius.

You poor bastard.
I can't imagine only 8 sqare feet of shed. We have just moved house, and I have had to put up my own shed 6Mx6M, and now I don't have enough space in it, 1. because I've had to cut back form 2 sheds that size and 2. because our house is smaller I now have 21 removalist cartons of wifey craft crap and 16 x 91 litre plastic storage boxes and various bit of furniture that won't fit in the house.
But seriously.....only 8 square feet? (is that 8'x8' or 8'square?- I hope for your sake it's 8'x8')

or you could read it
8', square building.
The question is what's the floor area? 64 square feets (64 feet squared) or 8 square feets (8 feet squared).
We need to know.

You have a shed???
Insert jealousy here.
Just yesterday I sad to a mate "Next house I have I'm getting a shed!" and she just looked blankly and said "Why?" Sums up the whole difference of the sexes I think.

Sheds
Have just gone through exactly the same myself. Process went as follows

1.) Wanted a shed to put my tools in. Looked online to find some and got a quote for a new concrete base.
2.) Decided I could build the base myself for cheaper.
3.) Built the base myself more cheaply.
4.) Decided that a purchased shed wouldn't be quite right
5.) Spent the last 4 freezing weeks building the mother of all sheds (4m x 4m fully insulated, wired, heated and shelved) and had a great laugh with my old man doing it.
6.) Spent the last 5 weeks explaining to the girlfriend why I didn't just buy one and plonk it at the end of the garden as apparently its just a few bits of wood!
7.) Dont tell her but I have ordered a metal tool chest with slidey rubber-lined drawers... and am really quite excited about sorting all my tools, bolts and nuts into it this weekend :)
