Poor girl.
She may have only had two or three partners in her life, and as such, her one night stand in her eyes really meant something. The parents bit goes some way to confirming this theory.

I never realised how people think in this way, until a female friend of mine took me aside in my womanising days, and pointed out I was really hurting a lot of the girls I slept with, as they thought it meant something.
