Oh dear the poor thing. Similar thing happened to me where my grandmother assumed we were keeping it from her because she was ill and therefore didn't need extra stress. I'll never forget the way she cried with relief when she saw the baby. I wish I had explained it to her a bit better so she didn't have to go through the stress of, 'Oh shit it's died and they're not telling me.'
