This is a question Thrown away: The stuff you loved and lost.

Smash Wogan writes, "we all love our Mums, but we all know that Mums can be cunts, throwing out our carefully hoarded crap that we know is going to be worth millions some day."

What priceless junk have you lost because someone just threw it out?

Zero points for "all my porn". Unless it was particularly good porn...

well fuck me with a big jaggy stick...
if this is not the dullest QOTW eva!

seeing as it has turned into a star wars doll yawn fest. yes chaps they are DOLLS.

in a blatant attempt to try and subvert this into a more interesting read here is a spooky if not tenuous diversionary factoid

On Friday, September 23, 1955, Sir Alec Guinness was at the Villa Capri restaurant in Los Angeles, and found no table available. The actor James Dean, then filming Giant, invited Guinness to sit at his table. During lunch, Dean talked about his new car, a Porsche 550 Spyder. On leaving the restaurant, Dean insisted on showing off the car to Guinness, who said "Please never get in it. If you do, you will be dead within a week". Dean died in a fatal car crash in the Porsche the following Friday, September 30

I Agree
If i read one more story about starwars , 2000 ad or transformers i will scream . Surley to god you must have of had other toys or other precious things?? Dare i say it but if all your han solos had survived they would be nowhere as valuable as you think why???? Because they would not be so rare its simply supply and demand folks.

That story
has the whiff of urban legend about it. I know it's been quoted elsewhere, but since they're both dead now its kinda difficult to substantiate.

Unless you think someone's epileptic seizures are premonitions from God, of course. In which case, I respect your right to believe what you want.

Curious
that that (possibly apocryphal) story was added 2 days ago....

Hahahahaha
Classic QOTW post.

Some ineffectual whining followined by a cut and pasted urban legend.

All it needed was a self diagnosis of asperger's and a lie about sex to make it pretty much thequintessential post.

Trying to subvert it from Star Wars
so you write a story about the guy who played Obi Wan Kenobi?

Also, the reason so many people are pissed their parents threw out their Star Wars stuff and 2000AD is that it was popular when they were kids.

It's not like the 550 was a hugely safe car anyway, was it? And James Dean probably wasn't the safest of drivers.

Guiness
was well known for his reluctance to talk about star wars as he felt it was all 'a bit silly'.

Once he was approached by a fan who told him that he'd watched the films over 100 times to which Alec replied 'you should get yourself some professional help, or at least get out more' (or words to that effect)
