One of my friends
used to keep a pint glass next to the bath for exactly this purpose.

He used to take a bath every morning. On occasions he would fill the glass with a fart, carefully carry it into the bedroom and stick it under his girlfriends nose to wake her up.

I never quite got to the bottom of why he would want to do this, and his girlfriend was the sweetest of people . . . but it was kinda funny when he was telling us, especially as said girlfriend was there at the time and just rolled her eyes as if this was perfectly normal, if just a bit boyish behaviour.
